Re: Wales Mountain Trip

I wanted to fit 285/75 16 Khumo Mud Terrains, but I think I'll wait until after the trip. I don't think my car has enough power to get those big wheels up the mountain. With my tiny 225/70's I might not be as capable as a modified T3, but at least it will still be better than any Jap Crap.

Height is not a problem, he is welcome. I just need to know if he is definitely coming by Monday please.

My T3 buddy asks if he can buy some time until 19 november...
They are repairing the gearbox on the T3 and refitting it on the 19th...
If everything is ok then, he would be very happy to join. If this is not possible, we understand. I am coming in any case.

Hi LEEU,

How did I miss this post?.........are you still taking names. I'd like to try to come along, just have the usual domestic hurdles to pass and will try to confirm by this evening. My only problem is that my 500 won't be ready on time, but I'll come along in something else which is competent with a low box and MT tyres in any case.

'til later (crossed fingers!)

lphong, it's not that far. I have once driven down to Regio de Calabria, the tip of the Italian boot for a wedding, then got there, decided I didn't like the scene, and drove back.

I did this in a 460 230GE.

Surely you can come up then.

Hey LEED!

Could you tell me a bit more about the timing, please? Like... when do I have to be there on the 6th? I am thinking if I could squeeze some time out and come... google says it would take 13 hours or so to get there :/

Please also add your GWOA name, I haven't met most of you, so don't know who you are. If transfered, just send me a PM.

Mr JC Winstanley = G-Day and Cristo I live about a mile up the hill from Russ(280).

Was in Corwen this morning, good job we weren't out today any water courses were a bit lively, wouldn't try the Car Wash unless I was in a 6 wheel unimog at a guess would have been lapping the windscreen with a bit of a fiesty flow rate

BTW amazed that RMG delivered it, posted at about 5:30pm last night!

OK thought loads about it, and the mrs decided for me. Count us in! I'll be using the standard road tyres so I'll have to stick to the easier routes.

Whats the cost and where do I send it? you can email me the details to adnaan@rasool.eu.

Thanks! Adnaan

That just looks like any South African farm road, and all the farmers there drive Merc's, but then again they also use hilux 2 wd 2.4 diesel pickups in the Kalahari desert.

Don't worry, I am buying big wheels, but my engine might not be able to turn them. The guy in the 90 is also a offroad virgin, he is on digestive biscuits, and that in a brand new LR.

You have no worries mate.

PS bring a good tow rope, just in case...

Can't wait.

Taking my girls with me they love going off road though it's never been for more that 15mins or so so this may prove interesting!

Suggestions for equipment list for 5yr and 3yr olds?

So far they have suggested;-
nintendo DS
large picnic, consisting of mainly bisquits, choclate and crisps (thank heavens for leather easy clean interior)
lemonade
torches and bino's
drawing pads and crayons
plastic guns for fighting off the red indians!

Anyone else taking kids?

Chilipepper,

Great list! My daughter will find a kindred spirit in the use of a DS! She has Pokemon and Nintendo Dogs if that is of any help?

Would also include; welly boots, change of clothes and a sturdy plastic bag! Am taking my 7 and 3 and a half year old. what tends to happen is that when we stop they will want to 'collect' things! :P

I think Modificata will be bringing his kids as well.

i just have had memories of being in the car with you joe and having screams of "go faster through the puddles daddy" coming from the seats behind.

i dont know what was more thrilling, the g or the fact you can have daughters that say things like that!
