Looking at the speaker picture I have notice you have omitted a nice piece of carpet over the wood..*sniff*.. Would be nice and make things look neater....

I like the way you think

pulled the engine and auto box last night...surprisingly little wiring on it, only three plugs one to the ecu, one going back to the dash (dont know what it does yet) on one to the glow plug relay, which will be reused.
next is to start stripping the loom out of the car then lay it all out and try work out what is HOPFULLY not needed!
*actually four...i for got the one on the gear box*

i take that back....!

mick, why dont you just go mechanical IP like me

less to go wrong mick when you consider the amount of connections, fuses, realys thast could be affected by all sorts....

i am really happy with the power[just ask peter perfect]

i would however increase the diameter of the elements of the 603 mechanical IP to 7.5mm for more power

looking at the engine bay on the 460 and in particular the steering rod, do you feel that the turbo will clear??

please let me know asap as i am loosing sleep :?

I'm reasonably confident that I can cut 80% out of that loom
electrics on this level is a new thing for me, and somthing thats going to be more common place with vehicles as time goes on, so you might as well jump straight in the deep end!
I hadn't really done a vehicle like this before i started it...or did have many tools at the time...but it turned out OK, it was a learning curve though!

Its not really for the power im going with the ecu controlled pump, id sooner the mechanical pump as i could fiddle with it!
It more about the ecu controlled 5 speed AUTOBOX and the gear shifter to go with it...ill hopefully be keeping the sport mode!
as for the turbo vrs steering column, not sure yet, I can mount the engine slightly higher as ive a body lift, move the steering box slightly or the engine slightly to the other side although will have to watch the jack shaft phasing, best case a slight combination of all above will be enough 8)
Worst case move the turbo up ( pity you cant flip the manifold) it......
double worst case put it in the orange G wagen, it doesn't have a steering column any more, just an orbital valve at the bulkhead as it as it has hydraulic steering!

Ive had the 606 fitted in this for the last few months, fitted fairly straight forward after, a few issues with the wiring but i think ive got to the bottom of them now.

Hi Im doing the same engine swap,as far as I know autobox couldnt be installed as long you dont have ABS on your truck.Or you might have another solution?Im also using stock electronic pump in order to have better consumtion and power.Regards:Dan
