Looks tidy - been standing for a while apparently and took a bit of cleaning to get it back shiney.
I might be tempted to replace my 'crashed' 230GE instead of fixing it, but its a bit of a gamble for me and no time now to view it. If anyone knows it, let me know!
Well someone better buy it at that price
with 20 bids so far and (apparently) lots of interest, I am sure it wont stay at that price, and that's the gamble. I guess we'll see. I am sure some on here are bidding blind too. That's the market. But someone might have seen it, decided against it, and can share
(their reasons) why :)
I like the "locking" fuel cap
Bidding is up now beyond a bargain and the sellers feedback gives cause for concern;)
What? 10 out of 22 no longer registered users? Some bad feedback, no tax or MOT?
Mmmmm, bargain. NOT
if no major faults mechanically its not a bad little motor... worth viewing before final bid to be sure.
up to 2,200 i think its worth the money. a bit of elbow grease should make it worth 3,500...
whoa. my thoughts exactly, and was literally poised to put that level of bid in and it jumped to 2950 and saved my pontificating (often happens on eBay). Considering you need a grand to restore to alloy wheeles, and have no odea of the provenance of the rest of the engine, transmission, brakes etc, then this is definitely a gamble. Looks nice though and it was the jump seats I liked the most ;)
Good luck to 'lucky' buyer who got it for 3100 - someone not very active on eBay. Maybe we'll see it again.
Well if it was as straight as it looked then putting back the missing bits would make a nice car but it would have had to be very clean for £3K
Agreed. But then you have to ask why it was laid up in a field in the first place, and why sell the wheels if there was a prospect of easy running. Also why this seller didn't do the basics for an MOT when it looks like he has the facilities/contacts. In short, this could be cheap, or it could be expensive.
Exactly - hard to say without seeing it. I hope the buyer turns up on here and we can get the full story and it turns out to be a good car for them.
Hi
can see the obvious from the pics
wiper spindles
rear vent covers
missing fog lamp
wiring at the rear door
fuel tank cap and possible damage to tank as a result
purchase price too high if any major expense involved
I contacted seller on day he put it on for sale on ebay and he said he wanted minimum of £4000 for it !

i am sure you will find what you are looking for...
Dont know how my message was shown 3 times ? didnt post it more than once , also just noticed now re advertised on ebay at buy now £3500 and re advertised due to timewaster !
Timewaster or someone who was a bit dissapointed when they saw it.
If it was as good as they stated, why didn't they slap an MOT on it and 6 months tax to get considerably more for it, such as the four grand he wanted?
either a time waster, or a buyer that knows G wagens only too well !!!
This is not entirely surprising.
Even the Sellers' eBay said 'returns accepted', so he should expect a few, especially if he has covered up and not mentioned any key information (like no keys, no brakes, no lights?). Still worth a look.
Or maybe there were 900 disappointments....
