Max,

I hear all your preaching but I'm afraid that it is falling on deaf ears. The lack of support for Biodiesel in this country is political: it stems from the power that the political lobbies exert over Westminster and results in the Queen being able to fill the tank of her Bentley with gas at 39 pence a litre while every other bugger would fill the tank of their diesel car, van or lorry with Biodiesel at 80 pence a litre! This when the rest of the world knows that biodiesel is less polluting than LPG.

All this stupidity and snobbery is what is making me giving up on this country after so many years and also what makes citizens of Britain desert their country for mine in droves.

i am the engineer for a small company in herefordsihre producing biodiesel from used cooking oil- i recently bought a old 5cly 300gd because it is particularly suitable for running on fairly high percentages of veg oil without modification, largly due to its magnificent and truly spectacular injection pump. so far so good, it has heaps more go on our fuel over mineral diesel. I am very happy to discuss any technical matters on the subject to the best of my knowledge, and our website for those interested is http://www.longma.co.uk/ cheers Richard.

So are you saying biodiesel is only suitable for older more basic engines. Or can I use it in my fit 2.8Td Van.
