Hi all,
am looking for a g in scotland anybody know who has g's in scotland for advice on models and ultimately for sale.......never driven one

I am looking for a 280 or a v8 shortwheel base i currently drive a v8 swb landrover with lpg conversion which has stood me in good stead for the last 7 years but is not suitable for a new family member .I like the v8 power and am a total lpg convert so do the v8 swb exist if not do the v8 engines transplant into the 280s and are they available.

Welcome aboard.

The V8 certainly does exist in the SWB, however the price point between a V8 and a 280 will be very significant. The V8 exists in the form of the G500 and as far as I know the only SWB ones were made from roughly 1999 onwards. So expect a price tag of about £30,000 plus for a LHD and significantly more for a RHD drive.

A 280 on the other hand will cost you a couple of grand.....

Transplants are an option, but often entail a fair amount of work. There are a number of people on this forum who have done it and can advise better.

In regards to finding a G, you will probably have to be prepared to search across the UK to find one as they are few and far between. I don't think that there are that many in Scotland.
