I really want to upgrade the width of my 280GE which is bone stock and currently running the 6Jx16" ET63 Merc alloys and 235/85R16MT tyres.

These look OK but don't stick out far enough for my liking.

I've seen a set of LR 'Modular' rims in 16x10et-50 or 16x8et-30 but would need the 30mmm LR-G adapters like these.

How wide can I go with the LR rims and adapters without rubbing and will my 235/85R16s be any use? If not which tyres would be best up to 33" for the 16x8 and 16x10?

Hi
when you say "stick out" I believe that the width of the wheels must be within the profile of the vehicle if used on the public highway..hence the wide arches on most G's...

you have another pm G-Funk.

Wouldn't it be good if the web designer could change this forum page so that when someone gets a pm, it's more obvious? Like flashing big letters, or won't let you read forums until pm's have been read. Could this be done?

There already is.

If you look on the left and go to> My Account then > Preferences

At the bottom you will see options you can select Yes/No at the bottom for email notifications and a popup window for PM messages.

Then Save your settings.

Hope that sorts it.

AHA, good, thanks. Why does nobody seem to use it then?
