There has been a huge explosion in the number of "red light" cameras here, too. While the safety benefits are dubious at best, the additional revenue enhancement for the local municipality is undeniable. You see a flash as you enter the intersection, and two weeks later a ticket comes in the mail with the photo included. At $271 a pop, you'd think it would be a better picture!

While my 280SE is no speed demon, I did get a ticket recently. Not for speeding, but for not having a front license plate mounted. Though it has always been a legal requirement to have one on the vehicle, that regulation was seldom enforced until the advent of these cameras - too many people were getting out of the tickets because without a front license plate the vehicle couldn't be identified in the photo.

I've seen advertisements for a Photoblocker spray paint. I have no personal experience with it, but it is a colorless paint with reflective crystals in it which, when sprayed on a license plate, renders the plate unreadable when a viewed under the light of a photostrobe.

The other option: take the truck down to Q-branch and have them retrofit the tried-and-true revolving license plate. :D

That 007 accessory is so tempting isn't it, mate of mine once did a similar thing using a starter solenoid on his back plate - he was a notorious boy racer, used to get chased by cops and irate road users all the time. The plate just span round and round once you hit the button in the dash, they never caught him either...
