The sad saga of my Brabus G400
My son and his friend, en route back from France where they had been taking part in a fund-raising run for the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, were driving back down the M11 late one night at about 75mph. Out of the blackness appeared a lorry wheel which hit the G Wagen smack in the centre of the radiator. It made a vast gash in the front of the car, set off all the airbags but son and friend were totally unscathed. Had they been in any vehicle other than a G-Wagen they would probably be dead.
The damage looked at first sight to be relatively superficial but on closer inspection the vehicle may well need a new engine, certainly needs a new chassis and as a result the insurance company have written it off.
Anyone who is interested should, I suppose, phone the insurance company (the NFU Mutual) and speak to Jerry Risebrow on 01954-213836.
In the meanwhile I have gone over to Germany and have bought myself yet another G400CDI. This is my seventh G-Wagen.javascript:emoticon('')

Sorry to hear about your loss, but glad you are replacing it. Was this the one that you were trying to sell? In which case not too bad.
But tell me. You obviously seem happy enough with the G400 to buy a second. All I hear about G400s on the other forums are horror stories about the number of times the car has been in the shop. Have you had no such problems?
