Does anybody know if one could get normal style but custom number plates?

I would love to have M411ERN... I don't think it is registered to any car actually...

Hi, not to sure what you mean.

Sorry for the confusion :S I meant a private plate with normal pre-01 style. i.e. letter-number-number-number-letter-letter-letter. In this case I would like M411 ERN.

Thank you Spider for the link... they only have 444 as an option :S

I guess my preference is too 'normal' to be a private plate...

By the way... my current number is a right mess :'(

Ring the sales team on 0300 1233100 they should be able to tell you if that's available, or when.

M411ERN is not showing as currently on a licensed vehicle (mycarcheck.com) nor has it been sold by the DVLA at a previous auction.

You can contact the DVLA to request it be offered at a future auction, I did this before and the number appeared for sale within six months. The contact I had was gary.thomas5@dvla.gsi.gov.uk but have no idea if this address is still live, it was three years ago :D

The auctions usually have reserves of around £300 minimum - add on VAT, 7.5% buyer premium, and £80 assignment fee and you'd be looking at near £500 minimum.

Best of luck!
