The new 461 has landed at brooklands
Tom sheppard is going to test drive the new 461 worker next week at brook lands Mercedes, so if your that way go and have a look
Would Tom please take lots of photos and hopefully, write article about the subject?
Regards,
Rakesh.
yes please,
very interested to see some pictures as well.
thx
keep us posted pp
I plan to test drive the W461 sometime soon as well.
What I'm particularly interested in is how the handbrake lever feels in practice, given that it hasn't been transferred to the right during the conversion process.
Don't know who Tom Sheppard is. The only Tom I know can't even afford to buy a car with a roof, never mind a new 461.
Don't know who Tom Sheppard is.
... desert explorer, 4WD expert, photographer, author and most importantly G-wagen owner. See http://www.desertwinds.co.uk/
Thanks, I don't have a tv, but I'll get his book then.

coming from someone that doesn't have a TV tsh
Tom
Don't worry Tom as soon as you are finished your studies in 30 years time I'm sure you will be loaded.
in 30 years time
thanks for reminding me that this feeling of the learning never ending is what i foolishly signed up for! sadly in 30 years time i feel only dentists and nhs managers will be able to afford to run G's!
Tom
p.s fact of the day from my revision - those who are effected by downs syndrome (trisomy 21) have, as part of the genetic change to the chromosome, straight pubic hair and not curly!

fascinating...
never heard that before.
is this for real, or are you just making it up?
the body is an intriguing thing and i got the fact initially from a medical textbook so i am quite certain it is a variation that can effect those with downs syndrome, best revision fact of today so far is that those unlikely enough to suffer from TB (tuberculosis) will be treated with many drugs, one of which is Rifampicin. Luckily what will cheer any patient up is that this medication turns your bodily fluids a red-orange colour, not just urine but tears too!
Tom
I think you need to get new text books. That is from one of the TB leaders in Africa.
I will never believe you again now, red-orange fluids; sounds like 25.8MPG
i can vouch for the red-orange fluids as i've seen it first hand (african nationals work for bernard mathews, large amount of them end up in the hospital i was placed in for resp due to their TB infections that come with them from abroad) What did you work in to do with TB, quite interested...
as for the 25.8 mpg, that was for the 190, sadly the heavy right foot has meant worse in the CLK!
Tom
Not me, my dad. He was head of the biggest TB research hospital over there.
You should get an average of at least 32 with the CLK. BTW if you want to have some fun, just get a bigger pulley for the supercharger.
A bigger pulley? Surely that would slow it down. A smaller pulley would speed it up....Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick. And is that simple to do on a 180 Kompressor? I can't even see the supercharger on mine, it is tucked away so well, let alone the drive for it.
Straight pubic hairs! That would make it kinda difficult to identify them as such when you find them in the sugar bowl, wouldn't it?
I think it is actually the crank pulley you change, but I'll contact the guy who did mine some years ago. It just raises the pressure, and the computer do the rest. I just know it makes a hell of a difference.
i can get it chipped to 225 and the pulley sounds a very good idea.
32mpg, what type of driving is that, mine definitely isnt running right then, last tank was 21!
Tom
Tom you were right about the red/orange, his main patiants are MDR's and XDR's,
My 230 gave 9km/l whent cold and on a run it would go up to 13km/l, BUT
at 250+km/h (after slight engine upgrade) 3.5km/l
You should, with our speed limits and a fairly heavy foot get 11-12 km/l.
he obviously likes the easy ones then, MDR's AND XDR's!
using the converter that gives you 25 when cold and 36 on a run, on average (mix of heavy runs and 50mph cruises there is one benefit to the crap Norfolk roads), im getting 8.5km/l
With the price of fuel this needs sorting quickly, just have the slight problem of exams in the way and if i dont pass them i cant afford to keep the car!
Bugger
Tom
My brother in law had a '00 E230 and he got better consumption than me, there must be something wrong.
no, tom's not that sort of guy, but I am thinking of going down there the same time!
