Red wine CLK Hairdresser
I know what has been said about CLK Cabrio's, but I've never been scared to be labelled, I want one again. We have just bough a farm about 20 minutes away, so I want to buy my wife a CLK diesel Cabriolet as a surprise birthday present (early August).
They only made a few 270 cabriolets, but that is what I want, so if anyone sees or hear about one can you please let me know? I will put a box of the best South African red up for the finder.
Thanks
Christo
According to Parkers there are 'no diesel cabrio's in the line-up' (quite right too!). Are you sure they made any?
At a glance, cannot find any on mobile.de either...
I did a quick search on the Merc approved used register adn the only diesel CLK cabrio that comes up as an option is the 320. According to the search function there's one in Exeter but the pictures look like a coupe so most likely just entered into the system incorrectly. Still, if the 320CDi is there as an option they must have made some.
if you must have diesel clk cabrio christo, i am sure eddie [needamerc] or mick the digger can help !
if its a convertible - thought of the A3 Audi? Nice looking car and comes with a hell of a diesel....

This is what I got back from the MB owners club CLK forum...
"Hi Tom
I'm sorry to say that the CLK 209 diesel cabrio was never sent to or sold in the UK.
You can get it in Euro land howvere it will have the controls all on the wrong side !
Mercedes has now redressed this sorry state with the new CLK... oh sorry the new E Class ( cough cough) as this is available as a cabrio diesel but that may be of no help to you if you want a CLK (and why wouldn't you)
Regards
Red"
Keep the wine for yourself and buy her a 320 petrol!
The bloody thing will come back with a 4" lift, roll cage and painted pink. It will be well done though.
Seems like a good plan actually. It’ll save her the walk from the new place back to the road, you’ll never get a hairdressers car there
as a clk cab owner, and my mum having an slk, weigh up if she nearly needs the diesel.
for the amount you will lose in depreciation on buying a newer vehicle for its diesel engine she could have a sweet petrol engine to glide along in.
were currently in the same situation for my mum as she wants more seats for the grand kids, but she just doesnt do the mileage to warrant the diesel
just my two pence.

p.s recommend any good s.a wine?

that reminds me - Tom can you fit me in for a cut, style and shape? :P
Cheers

Here you go, all you need to do is cut the roof off and you have got yourself the best of both worlds, and it's a diesel. Nice colour to.
Very much a ladies car I think. A4 or 3 series for me. 320d is a great engine.
How about a convertible Mini?, says sooo much about your taste and you in particular will look sooo good driving it with the hood down Christo
audi a4 cabrio tdi i5 the be5t all rounder
I the BM's out then I have to agree with Huss....... Or get a new E-class.
wise man!
I think I'll get the Audi.
Alternatively, buy my Porsche!! Super discount for you since we both like firearms and Gs!
I think I'll get the Audi.
VAG produce some the best diesels IMHO, easily and safely modded/chipped and overall the A4/3 may not be “sports cars†but compared to MB they are way nicer build quality. But are you serious about putting chip fat in to a modern TDi?
Saw one of these on the road today and remembered this thread!

Hi Tom, Many thanks - they were disappointed that things did not quite work out for your 'issues' , but they have promised to pass on your discount to me and asked me to suggest that you may want to get that 'rash' seen to by a gumi specialist.

Thanks Guys.
I am sure we have seen at least a badged 270. Back to the drawing board then.
The only other ok'ish diesel cabriolet would be a beetle, but not even I am man enough for that.
