The 280 was a single point I take it? You need multipoint on the 300, the only bits you can keep are the tank, filler and switch I reckon, might save you a fair bit.

You can if there is no catalytic converter on 300GE. If 300GE has converter, LPG system requires additionally electronic mixture control unit with mixture regulating stepper motor, avoiding burning converter.

Actually 300GE is equipped with KE-Jetronic(close relative to 280GE K-Jetronic) which can work only with singlepoint LPG system.
Multipoint LPG works only with electronic injection system, KE-Jetronic is mechanical.

Perfect solution would be to replace KE-Jetronic with for example Megasquirt ECU. You will have then electronic multipoint injection and multipoint LPG controlled with single ECU(feature is called dual-mapping).
