Removing trim - possible without breaking anything?

Hi there,
I have a question about removing the trim on a W460 230GE.
Are there any tricks to doing this without breaking the plastic mounting parts?
I would like to add some speaker and UHF antenna wires and will need to remove most of the side and rear trim to feed the wires though, from the back.

I can replace some of the fittings with rivnuts/nutserts but not the more visible trim bits (whatever they are called, the little round things)

And if I need to replace parts, should I go with orginal MB ones or some generic sort?

You should be able to remove most of the trim without breaking anything, but as with anything it helps if you have the right tools.

You can get a kit of trim removal tools from your local auto suppliers or even ebay. They're not expensive.

Alternatively if you're handy with metal they are pretty straightforward to make.

I have taken a lot of the trim off of mine without damaging or breaking it using normal tools i.e. large flat screwdriver. Can't hurt to have the right ones though. Think before cutting great big holes for speakers though!

Mercedes recommends using a plastic wedge to do these things. I made a couple of them myself using soft wood:
