Steering Column UJ'S
Do you have to buy the genuine MB products to recon these or has anyone found any after market way round this? Sure when I last enquired dealer siad the computer said no sales of this part had ever taken place!
It could mean the dealership yo made your enquiry from has never sold one, but these items have sold in the past; I have bought one.
This item is a dealer part only, so there are no alternative sources for it.
Should you have a problem, try ORC - Off Road, in Germany.

Yes, quite easy.
Undo pinch bolts top and bottom of uj, using a light or toffee hammer tap the uj upwards, when the uj has slide off the bottom spline, clear the uj from the spline and then knock the uj downward to remove from the top spline.
Notice the uj has one groove thicker than the others, this is so the uj fits in the right groove. The steering shaft has a groove on it so you can line up the steering in a straight ahead position, for re-assembly.
