Is Soria's land dry and cold
Spring passes by the bold hills and mountains,
green pastures, ashen ridges,
leaving among the scented grass
its minute white daisies

We toured the south of Soria's province yesterday. We drove off the road more than 130 Kms, to add to the few miles we needed to drive to Carabias, where we started and Riaza, where we ended.

We left at 9:30 AM and were back by pitch night. More than 12 hours of comradeship and excitement.

We will not give too much details about our exact whereabouts -tree huggers and their accomplices have too much power in Spain these days to deny us of our civil liberties. We had a great day which we finished driving through the Little Rubicon in the opposite direction to the day that we discovered it.

The bad news is that Lipstick broke down on the motorway to Madrid just before the Somosierra tunnel so that it had to be recovered (a broken service belt tensor).

Re: Soria

sorry to hear the ending of the trip for the red one. didn't that one just have a new/replacement engine? surely, they should have checked everything on it before putting it into the G...........i had a new/replacement put into my Land Rover (2.8 TDI upgrade) about 2 years ago and asked for a 12-month guarantee which i got. needless to say, within 2 months, my turbo blew.....the garage had to replace it with a new one (just the part on it's own was over £1600 as it was unique to the 2.8 engine) AND I also insisted on a point check of the engine: sweet as a nut ever since but what a hassle!.....hope you can sort it out under a similar scheme.....be resolute and ye shall not fail as they used to say....good luck
