my new project...[timbos tired 230 ges]
i got this poor G from a member here recently. it was a mess...... :cry:
but after completing refurbing the axles, brakes,coils and bearings etc, its in for a complete body restoration and matt silver, glossed arches makeover. next month.:wink: the engine oil was like tar :shock: :shock: i have never seen anything like it, but the engine runs so sweet i was amazed!!
i took it out for a maden voyage on sunday with the north cyprus off road club.

why didn't you just cross where the suzuki is, then you wouldn't get stuck?!
stig, i was setup mate !!!!!!! :evil: i was head of the convoy and my first time on this particular course, unlike the others who had crossed this river a few times :?
but the reason i got stuck was because the diff lock resevoir had no oil in it and i entered a bit too slow relying on the lockers [rather than attack the crossing at speed land rover style :shock: ]
still had fun though :oops:
Is this the G you are going to make available to club members who want to come for a tour?
I probably would have done the same, 'just to see if I could'!
christo, that seems a good idea... :!: but i may have a potential customer for it already. [i have saved this little baby from the junkyard!]
but hey, dont worry. i could always rent my cabrio 300GDT for a reasonable rate to gwoa members :P now thats good excuse to visit north cyprus.
imagine travelling up the pan handle roof off and almost 177 bhp riding on 35's :shock: :D

i was most impressed with the 230 ges. despite strong competition...the little lady performed really well. i was amazed how it carried those 33 kumhos :shock:
the only other mod was the orc coils...for now :twisted:
