Hello all
just thought i would introduce myself.I have lurked in the background for a couple of years but have recently joined your happy band. I have been a long time fan of the G having driven them when thy where first introduced to the UK back in the early 80's. I worked for an MB dealership from 80-87 and worked on what i believe to be the best built cars the world will ever see ,123 , 116 , 107 ,124 , 201 ,126 and of course the 460 where all cars built without regard to cost , built by engineers not accountants , (apologies to any accountants). I have spent the last couple of years building myself a Westfield sportscar and now find myself lacking a project to keep me out of mischief. I have fond memories of my many miles in various G's over the years and have decided to replace my beloved w124 estate with a G, so i will shortly be looking for a 300ge swb,
auto prefered for a budget of around 5- 6k. In the meantime i will try and dig some of my old photos out of the MBUK G Wagen fleet cars that used to do the rounds of the dealerships in the early 80's Cheers for now SK

Hello and welcome!

Can;t wait for some Retro Photos of the G! (Well before my time thought!) :P But I am sure members like PRWales, Russ, G-Day and MaxwellSmart will remember those times!

Once again Welcome!

Welcome along . Some of the Gs you worked on in the dealership are probably still on the road today. I'm sure you'll find a swb in the future

welcome to the club !

i am sure we can help you find the G of your dreams. but dont rush, and whatever you find or see in the ads report it here openly on the forum. i am 99% sure someone here will know about it directly or indirectly.

when i was looking for one a few years back i was pm'd alot about various G's available at the time... but i ended up buying ruby [my present 463] because it was a known vehicle amongst the community here.

stick to open discusions with regards to what you [we] find and be wary of G's that are not known of here, or at least open to discussion.

good luck and regards.
