Iveco is basically the santana, which was purchased by iveco, slight face lift and iveco engine, but it's a landrover 110 under the skin, I do like the Toyota, just don't like the way the pur sits so high.

yes I've always been a fan of the toyotas, especially the 70 and 80 series.
I owned a 99 landcruiser amazon for a bit. Only problem it was the gutsy petrol. I'm in two minds whether to get the 4.2 TD as I do like them..

In dubai recently spotted a new 2010 pickup model based on the 70 series. Didn't know they started reproducing these for the Gulf market. Very nice

I've saw plenty of Toyota 70' when I was in Australia last year. Shame they are not available with automatic transmission.

However, the Landcruiser 200, which does have automatic transmission and that is available in this country, is the competitor to the G to look at. A bit ugly, but could be improved by fitting ARB front and rear bumpers and an OME lift. Saw quite of few of these there too. We hired a LandCruiser 105 for a trip along the Gibb River Road.

The most interesting vehicle I came across was this Unimog.

A properly kitted out LandCruiser 200 to rival any G!

The scariest thing about the LandCruiser trip was that I didn't know how to let down the spare tyre from underneath the rear!. Thankfully, didn't have to. The LandCruiser was superb.

A few photo' of the only diesel stop for miles around.
