replacement panel for off/side rear quater of 460
Can anybody help with regards to the above...I recently bought the above from my local Mercedes dealership,and there are two distinct differences between the rotten existing panel and the new one...Four holes on the flat section just above the fuel filler and what looks like a door hinge slot to the left below the fuel filler...Is there supposed to be a light affixed to this flat section with the holes? and do left hand drive models have a the rear doors hung from the opposite side to the right hand drive models?

Hi A pic of the subject panel would help! as early 460g's had double doors..always quote the vin/chassis number when ordering parts from an MB dealer.....
Sounds like they have got you the one for the swing out tire carrier

thanks for your reply...I did give the chap the Chassis Number...Now you come to mention it I do remember that when I was enquiring about rear door bottom edge repair panels (that I have since had some made for £20 spot on as well!)...He showed me pictures of a two door set-up, and he did say as it is an early model,it was at a cross over point...So I need to look into this a bit more, as I do want to have things correct !...I did speak to him yesterday and he said that there was only the one listed ,but that he was going to ring MB technical,so we will see what he comes back with today...I keep you posted if you are interested.

Hello, please see photo`s of rear quarter panels as requested...Obviously we are talking about the one on the right.
Definately for a G with twin doors and swing out carrier. I will get you a part number tomorrow.
If you gave the dealer your chassis number then he got it wrong - ie not your fault so he should take this part back.
Hello Dentsmithy, thanks for your reply and the correct part no would be a help...I didn`t get a chance to ring "Hughes"of Beaconsfield today...They were actually supposed to be ringing me back re the panel below the doors arrival and re the above problem .

or A 4606471407
with the chassis number the dealer should be able to tell you which.

hi there, can you post the part numbers for the wrong panels please. its just that i have a lhd 1980 model 300GDS with the twin rear doors and i might need to change them.

Hello, I am not sure if I still have them...You should be able to get the right ones from your chassis number from a Merc deaaler.
Sorry to jump on an old thread but i have a driver side (RHD) with filler cap no.a 460 647 14 07 brand new MB panel. This of no use to me ( came with the car). I need the other side with cut outs for the barn door. Does any one have an idea of the cheapest place to get a panel or need this panel ( i need some other bits so can cometo an arangment).
