Over the last 2 months the electrics in my G seem to be failing one by one. At first the electrical windows stopped working, one after the other. Then the interior light, when the drivers door is opened, then the rear window washer and just today the brake lights (the rear lights are still working).

I have just checked the fuses (all OK) and changed the battery to no effect. Are these isolated failures or do they have a common root cause? The MOT is looming and I really need help to get to the bottom of this.

I think the first thing I would do is get some electrical contact cleaner. check all connections, clean all the fuse contacts and see if there is any improvement. Even if the fuses look ok there can still be corrosion on the contacts. Similarly the bulb sockets can be corroded or the spring tension may be slack - copper is not a good spring.
