New windscreen rubber too big?
Can anyone help? I have had the windscreen surround repaired as it had began to leak and ordered a new windscreen rubber from Germany. We have tried to fit the screen (using string etc) but it looks to fill less of the surround than the one that came off. All the rubber fits in the recess where as the old one lapped over the edge. Also will not go back in. Does the seal have any particular way of going on, i have the thicker side of the rubber facing the outside of the vehicle?

Actually though the new rubber is ill fitting, gentle tapping with a wooden handle all around the edge has made a big difference. I will try fitting it again in the morning when hopefully it will be lighter & dry!
