Hi all,
I tried to replace my blinker switch (300 GE, 1992, no airbags in steer) and got pretty far (see attachment). When the screws on the switch are open, I can feel that the switch is not attached anymore to the steering shaft. And at this point I got stucked. The screws belonging to the wooden decoration strip can also be opened, but then again I just can't remove the strips, because there still attached to the 'body'. And also the area marked with 'A' is somehow attached to the 'body' and I think I have to remove the wooden strip and the 'A' before I can remove the blinker switch (I like to clean it and try whether he's still working or replace it with another one). Any advice is most welcome, since driving around without giving directions is quite uncomfortable. Thanks in advance,

Harry

Re: Blinker switch replacement

Hi remove the two screws holding the strips and Gently prise the strips out of the slots that the back of the strip fits into...use a wide blade on the long one as chipping the lacquered edge is easily done, and very expensive to rectify....
