Please help!!
Offside fuel filler cap goes to what seems a long range small tank?? the outlet of this goes to a rubber (shaped) pipe, the pipe goes to the inlet of the main tank, it looks like slightly wider opening.
It leaked before at the bottom and top of the pipe, a slight seep from top gushing out of bottom.
The pipe is not perished and actually looks quite new.
I took it off and put some silicone around the top and bottom before re fitting with an extra 2 jubilee clips at the top and at the bottom, 4 in total!
It still leaks badly at the bottom....
Any ideas on a fix??
Thanks

Re: Petrol leak!!

I had the same thing happen on my 280 and I replaced with a new one from MB £69,when it comes to a flammable liquid near a hot exhaust pipe I wouldn't recommend a bodge fix.

Re: Petrol leak!!

Hi the leak may be out of the metal section of the main / aux fuel tank this area is prone to corrosion. did you clean the metal surfaces that the hose fits over or just seal the edge? most sealants react to petrol and decay into a jelly....I suggest you remove the rubber hose and check for corrosion of the metal that the hose has covered.....

Re: Petrol leak!!

Thanks for advice after careful checking it appears the hose had become porous. I replaced it with a MB new one and it appears to be ok.
