Another day out and this time we attempted to climb the legendary Jócar hill. This hill is typically user by Enduro bikers and as far as I know no conventional 4wd cars have ever succeeded in climbing it, other that is, than Freyer, Dodotete and myself in February 2008.

This time we did not even attempt to tackle it. The path to the base of Jócar crosses through a spring of water and this time it was soaking wet. One of the Gs in our party is fitted with the 18" Astraroths with AT tyres, which are totally useless in mud, particularly when we did not reduce the pressure given the low tyre profile and the rocky roads we used all day.

Funnily, the LWB L300TD managed to get out of the place without assistance whereas Freyers Cabrio necessitated the use of his winch (including home-made cradle). Pictures here:

And some pictures of the trip in February 2008 when we succeeded in climbing it (though, unfortunately, my camera run out of batteries) ...

thanks for sharing Isa ! great pics as always.

i see your friend is back in action again, brilliant! what did he do with the engine problem in the end? did it cost him much to repair? now all he needs is the right shoes for the right occasion

or is he the one that shamed up freyer

i cannot believe how similar your terrain is to ours here in cyprus.. we also have the fire tracks that samurais and quads often try to race up.

No, unfortunately I am an official airmiles collector: bank holidays and weekends in Madrid and the rest in Tenerife...

He sourced a very low-mileage engine from a E-class saloon for very little cahs in the end and replaced the whole thing (bar the oil pump and pan) and sundry ancillaries. But I was the one to shame Freyer up by driving the other G out of that muddy field without external assistance, he, he, he...

My G is, unfortunately, in Tenerife. Here are some pictures of it in La Gomera:
