Will the sliding side windows of the SWB G replace the fixed side windows of the 463 LWB?

Also why do some SWBs have a fixed window and some have sliding ones. Was this a factory option?

From the dogs point of view it would be handy if the side windows opened, although probably not in this weather.
Thanks.

the 460/463 SWB sliding windows were an option but they do not fit the LWB 460/463 .I have seen a mesh insert that fits into the rear side door window aperture on the LWB/460/463..held in place by lifting the window slightly ...

I wouldn't bother anyway. For the amount of use mine get I'd sooner have something that didn't rattle quite as much. Beer mats are an integral part of my G!

Re: Sliding side windows for LWB?

Hi Tom with a long strip of wood either side of the upper and lower channel and two sets of molegrips gently squeeze the channel not more than 2mm..and fold three layers of black electrical tape over the leading edge of the glass..done neatly it cannot be seen and stops the rattle.... But makes the window stiff to open....alternative take the windows out... dis -assemble the frame and fit new channel inserts... GBP 55 a side plus vat at the last count....3 years ago.....

Thanks Peter. That's what needs doing really as the inserts and felt strips are all pretty cruddy. Summer job though so think I'll get the mole grips out first. Can that be done with the glass in place?

Hi yes! just slide the window back as far as it can go...wood no more than 15cm long....squeeze in stages ...one squeeze and shut the window...

Can you elaborate on why they don't fit. To big, to small, wrong shape ?
Thanks.

Re: Sliding side windows for LWB?

too long....since they are all mounted in a rubber surround you could get a frame fabricated from the standard swb sliding window by cutting it to length and changing the dimensions of the fixed section of glass....
