Hi all

With all this bad weather and more pending, I'm trading in my dog/fishing wagon a Peugout Partner for a G.

I have a Mercedes W114 a 280CE on a 73 plate, which undertook a full restoration and burnt a massive hole in my pocket!! A mistake not to be repeated unless I want to be single....

I've read many of the articles on the Forum with regards to buying advice and with a budget of 10K I'm swayed to a W463 as my 280 has the very reliable M110 engine but the later model the W123 has the M103 which I understand is used in the 300G.

My choice of vechicle will only incur light motorway use and the occasional muddy field and then I stumble across this..

In your opinions is this a wise purchase or best to waite?

Thanks for the prompt reply

Obviously had some interest but not yet sold for some reason? I just need something reliable and this looks like it could well fit the bill especially with the dual fuel conversion.

Im getting a part exchange price tomorrow on my van so if the weather improves i'll be popping over to look at it myself. 10K seems steep though.

Re: Advice on a 300G

Well I took a little drive down to see it, however the garage was shut, no reply from the phone number listed and the G was tucked right at the back.

I have left my name and number and waiting for the guy to call back.

What I could notice was there is an Ariel (radio) attached at the top of the left hand rear pillar by the back door, that looks like it should belong on a Golf GTi

Once he is open or calls me I will pop down and scan it for you hungry G potential owners

It's a lot of money, especially if you're not doing big miles and therefore not making the most of the LPG. Plenty of LWB options around for that money. I'd steer clear and find one that hasn't been messed with. Maybe even consider a 460 if you're not going to be going far in it.
