Welcome to the madhouse
and greetings from up the Northwest
Hi David & Lena Congratulations Health to enjoy please read your PM private mail...seasons greetings....
Hi
I recently got new KYB or Kayaba springs and shocks fitted
to the front and rear
good choice and price
Hi David I have an (as removed) snorkle at GBP 10...re spring replacment you may have to reset the brake load sensing valve after fitting the springs and if the |G' has been running on uneven springs the shock absorbers may be suspect...repack the rear propshaft needle rollers (crosses) and shaft (3 nipples) with multi purpose grease as the angle of attack will change with the new springs....
Lovely looking G. Welcome to the Forum!
Hi All,
Thank you for your warm welcome, and we look forward to spoting some of you on our travels in the not so distant future.
Ok now down to business,
Since aquireing this nice bit of kit i have had to carry out a some works to make it even better, Oh know i here you all say, not another who wants to pimp his ride. No far from it, i had noticed that it was pulling to the left slightly so i have had it 4 wheel aligned, the results are good the steering is now bang on centre as it had been towing out by about 2,5mm.
Following the alignment i took it to have the wheels balance as i noticed a vibration coming in at about 65 but on inspection found that the front off side wheel had a flat spot in it, so i took it up to a guy i was fortunate to know of, who retrued and balance the front wheels and the spare all for a measley £65, ( i gave him £70 ) as you would since to get this job done on 1 wheel can cost even more.
No vibration now but still pulling to the left, have checked calipers and bearings all ok in that department b ut have noticed that the steering damper is on the way out, fitting new 50mm part tomorrow should put some nice weight to the steering.
Two new rear springs ordered and getting fitted tomorrow as the cause of the very slight pull would seem now to be down to the fact that it is sitting 20mm lower on the offside rear than the nearside rear. ( i am going to be busy on Wednesday ) Bought from Colin Adams auto spare N,Ards ,
£77 all inc For the pair made by KYB.
I will keep you all posted of the outcome and lets hope this resolves this very minor niggle.
PS any body got a spare snorkle for the altenator.
RegardsTo all.
