Last Tuesday was a bank holiday in Spain and we went for a day out. Unfortunately that cheeky engine air duct in the G300 Turbodiesel let the owner of that G down with catastrophic consequences and ruined our day in the process. The only good news is that we had a lot of fun recovering the truck and bringing it to civilization...

water in the engine? If it is you have my sympathy as it happened to me once though not in g-wagen.

Wow sad news. On the plus side it's a lovely looking car and the mud makes a nice two tone!

Why, if they knew the negitive side to the 300, did know one warn, or stop him!

It's a mistery to me. Only a few minutes before I was explaining to the owner that the G300TD had the engine air intake to the left of the RHS headlamp, behind the grille and that the air duct in the RHS fender was to take cool air to an oil cooler behind the RHS fender. See picture:

This is the only G of that colour that I have ever seen...

stop ıt, stop it, i feel sick !!

what will happen now? insurance will pay if its fully comp or does he fit a new engine??

btw, i found a complete 606 engine the other day for less than £1000 the other day... maybe cheaper to change the whole thing maybe???

He bought a virtually brand new engine from a W210 saloon and it's now been fit.
