The light that lights the P, N, R, D etc on my 1993 300 GES stopped working yesterday.

I hope fuse (which one and where?) or bulb (how do i get into it?).

Is there any other known issue with this part?

Thanks in advance.

All other lights on that section of the centre console still work

If I recall correctly it is lit by a 1.2v bulb. You just need to remove the wooden trim of the central console to access.

To do that you need to:

1) remove the plastic trim around the shifter
2) undo screws at front under lip where radio is
3) undo screw at rear which is accessible by removing the rear gaiter on the transfer case shifter.

The bulb should be attached to a loose wire which is plugged into the shifter unit - just pull out wire and bulb should come with it.

Maxwell,

Thank you very much. Exactly how you described it. Took all of 5 minutes.

Thanks,

Ian
