Re: heater problem ,

Hi push bonnet back against windscreen and reach down into the heater air intake box ..probably full of leaves and has drain vent in bottom drivers side corner blocked...reach back in towards the rear of the box and you will feel the dome of the fan blades ..spin the blades which should be free...the blower fuse (F10 in the fuse carrier) also serves the heated rear window. gearbox kickdown and first gear microswitch...could be broken wires in the rear door cable loom where it comes out of the door frame ..good to eliminate the other possible causes before dismantling the dash to access the heater module ( I can supply blower motors for GBP 90 vat included plus postage..considerably more from MB........

There seems to be a dire shortage of Mk2 Astra’s in scrappy’s. A Mk4 Escort will do the same job but with a little more surgery to the fan motor assembly.
