G55 Front Bumper
Hi Guys
I have just brought a G55 front bumper from a guy on the site and wondered about the bumper end caps that i have fitted to my 1992 463 SWB will they fit the new bumper i suspect not, if that's the case where can i buy new end caps to fit the new bumper other than going down to Merc, also any idea on price

The end caps will fit but there are different end caps depending on the size of the arches you have. G55s have extra wide arches and hence tend to have bigger end caps.
But if you have your existing arches on then keep your existing end caps.

No, you're right to an extent. There is no difference in a like for like year. There is however a difference when compared to a 1992 300 GES as the original poster has.
The G55 bumper (and most bumpers from about 96 or so onwards) have a radiator of one form or another placed behind the bumper. Thus the bumper has air vents in it and the license plate is held slightly above the bumper.
Up to 96 or so, which means the vast majority of UK Gs, have the plate positioned directly infront of the bumper but on a hinged plate that hides a tow hitch.
There are variations but those are the two most common bumpers.
Hi My last purchase (2 months ago) of 1992 300GE endcaps cost me from MB GBP 218 inc vat per cap. so I shudder to think what G55 caps cost!!!
