Hey guys, I have a 1985 280GE where the clutch smells very strong out of the driver's side wheel well (left-hand drive). I've replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and all hydraulics, and had the flywheel machined. I am wondering if this is a normal or you guys have ever experienced this before. I think my new clutch is still slipping a little for some reaseon, any ideas?

Re: CLUTCH SMELL

Hi could be partially seized callipers and the smell is brake pads ..check for hot discs and a holding back feeling when driving..rapid brake pedal pressing will exacerbate the situation....

Checked the brakes and all four were at ok temp., no stuck calipers or wheel cylenders. I blocked the vent hose to the clutch but the smell still persists.
