glowplug indicator

Hello!

I have the last week been notice the following thing. When driving home from work and going uphill on the highway the glowplugindicator has started to give light. A couple of times at the same hill. Anybody have an ide of why the glowplugs is suddenly activated while driving?

It means that one of the glow plugs is not working. You should replace all six

Beware! Replacing them ain't easy on the OM603 engine!

You have to remove the inlet manifold and this is a long job!

thanks. I have realiced that.. ill see if i can locate the faulty one and just replace that one.. Im tired...

Problem is that the only accesible ones are in cylinder 1 and 6 if I remember well....

I had all of them professionally replaced and shortly after one of them failed!

Luckily enough it was cylinder one so I could do it myself without too much of a hassle...

It is possible to replace them without removing the inlet. You just need patience and a decent 3/8th socket set with some universal joints.

Take your pick I guess there’s not much in it from a time point of view.
