Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve

Mine is very rusty and looks a bit broken, it moves up and down a lot and the top appears to have sheared from the bottom, or maybe this is how they work. does anyone have a picture or close up diagram (the EPC is a bit small). 460 230GE

Best to just remove it and blank off the hole in the manifold and either seal the pipe that goes to the metering head or remove it and blank off there too. I would expect that the pipe inlet to the metering head will be clogged up anyway and the EGR will not be functional anyway.

That's right, if it's not leaking I wouldn't worry and if it gets picked up as broken on the MOT just take it off. It was just a way of reducing emissions at tickover.
NB. if you do disconnect don't forget to seal the vacuum pipe.
