124 seats for a 463??
Does anyone know if electric seats from a 124 will fit a 463? In the back of my mind I seem to remember reading somewhere that they do and that it's a fairly easy fix. Am I deluded?

I believe that a forum member re-covered his seats with leather from a 124's seats, whether they will fit as a swap is another matter, have you measured the front seat width, I think the 124's are wider. Plus if yours is a swb attaching the replacement to the tilting base is not straight forward. Keep posting to let us know how you get on as I am sure many would be interested in this if its at all practicable.
go for it ian , if they are the seats you have your heart set on. infact the 463 fr seats are literally the same as the w124 :wink:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but while the W124 may indeed be the same width and shape and even the same colour, they do not offer any where near the same lateral support as the o/e 463 seat upper.
Been there,done that, stripped both to get one good seat.
You can change the leather off a W124 and put it onto a 463 seat successfully, don't know anything about its electrics.
Oh and I seem to remember the W124 has only one arm rest between the 2 seats. The Merc 190 seat is closer in this respect.

I seem to recall that the W463 seats were sourced from the W201 190E not the W124... so that you know where to start from...

I certainly think the seats were taken from another model line. However, Iirc the 201 was running out as the 463 was starting out, and certainly other 463 parts are 124 or 124 based. This makes me think that the seats are more likely to be 124. I've had a guy on another board saying his brother did it as a straight swap. Certainly the seats look more 124 than 201.
Anybody got any idea if there's any MBUK point worth contacting?

The 124 seat frames are too wide to fit a G wagen, the car has a much more spread out interior so it looks proportionatly the same as a G but its not. Also the seats are sprung more than padded so not up to the standard of the original G ones off or on road, too bouncy.
The back seat frame out of a merc 190 model will fit onto a 463 seat base. It also does not give the same lateral support as the 463 original but will do until you sort what ever is wrong with your original frame.
Been there done dat.

I will have potentially five forward-facing seats out of my pinzgauer TD which look remarkably like the 460/461 seats. If they are the same, please let me know and I'll save two for you. Anyone else need some?
