How do you get lifting points on a 463? The bloody rear bumper is not even steel, what good is that?

Also recovery points?

Re: High Lift Jack Points

have to ask for what is your reason for jacking points?
as for a rear recovery point tow bar would be your best bet, and front there is a towing pin front bumper for a 463 and and oil cooler relocation kit...does it not have the towing point on the chassis like a 460?

Towing pin bumper is great for front recovery point, but the tow bar on the back is not really ideal. You can not lock the recovery strap in place, it may come off if tension is relieved.

If you bottom this this thing out, how do you get it off it's belly without a high lifting jack?

btw, the towing point on the chassis is for towing, not recovery. I have broken one off when a JCB pulled me out instead of dig me out.

if the strap coing off the tow ball is an issue put a bow shackle over the ball ant attach the strap to that, get the right size and it cant come off.

If you want to hi-lift the G with out custom bumpers or rock sliders try one of these...

+1 this is the system we always used in the sahara dunes
if you are stuck, it's smarter to lift the wheels instead of the body.
But if you need to change a wheel you need to pick it up somewhere on the body.

Great thanks Mick. I forgot about those.

I think Boab sells them.

Re: High Lift Jack Points

I found an air jack quite useful for wheel changing and lifting the chassis up. The only problem with them is that they are very bulky and soot from the exhaust gets all over the inside of your car if you're storing the tube inside. You really need a flat box on the roof just for this thing and this is why i've taken mine of my packlist: maybe its time to build that box............ph
