G I'll never sell
I have a limited edition high compression 230 GE driving the socks off any 280, but with a fuel consumption of 24-26 m/gal.
The car has been kept 100% original, costing a fortune, but worth it and I was never going to sell it.
Today I got a phone call and 5 minutes later I had £10k in the bank, ending my 460 days. Sad to see it go, but then again who would keep a 460 at that price?
So from owning 6, I now only have 1.
thats great news and sad news....
tell us more about this 460 christo....what was the spec, colour etc...?
where did you get it from?
whose got it now? you never mentioned this G much.
and you dont post much pics either :?
i am in a similar situation with my monster cabrio, i say i will never sell it but....
you are the 3rd member to rate the 230 GE after fredcosse and tyclnes.
10k is good money for a 460 mind you, but money comes and goes..
good cars dont....
life aint the same with only 1 G
were on 3 at the moment, 1 is on its way to a new home, & the next for sale...i coulnt descide which to keep, but the trust 300gd is the one..slow but i just love 'em...I know i'll regret selling the 460-diesel 463-diesel swb, but hey................. sommat gotta give. I only need 1 :)
I don't know how to post pics Huss
It is a '89 swb with about 165 horses under the bonnet and 140k miles, burgundy and all the bells and whistles available at the time.
I have toured about 20k miles through Europe with it, made a crossing in the Alps following a ancient donkey track resulting in a few nights on the mountain and surviving a the big blizzard of 3 years ago on that trip.
Toured about 30k miles through Africa in it, mostly in the mountains following fire-breaks and Great Trek routes. Never travel without a chainsaw, pickaxe, and lots of rope and webbing.
Used it for live game capture in Africa, ie 70-80ml/h through dense bush following helicopters and darted animals and then to tow a 5 ton trailer with the animals out of the bush. Went through 4 bull bars in one year.
Construction vehicle, etc,etc
The list is to long, but it is a hell of a car and in my opinion the best 460 ever built.
