window latch rattle

Hi All , need advise please how do you tale off the rear sliding window locking latch on a swb 460 mdl , it rattles like mad when driving and need to fix it , is it a new lock or replace a part inside it ? thanks .

Hi it probably rattles because the the felt lined channel the window slides in has decayed...if you slide the window partially back and grip the open edge and push away and towards you it will rattle.....the window frame assembly has to be removed from the vehicle in order to screw it apartto remove the worn sections...new channel sections can be obtained from MB. simply qoute your local dealer the Vin/Chassis number WDB460.............. the catch itself has a vertical sliding cover which when removed reveals two screws..just in case you want to take a look........

my one used to rattle, pair of grips, cloth, pinch the runner together a little, rattling window no more, pinch is as little as possible and in a few places for the best results, as above, shake window when its open to see if its worked

Cheers Tom , took your advise , and it worked ! but still cant get off the catch for the sliding window any ideas to remove it .
