Folks,
My rear door (on a 460), over the many years has dropped about 1cm requiring me to lift it slightly when shutting it. Its OK for me, but my wife would find it hard.
I cannot see any adjustment on the hinges, and I see no point in moving the strike plate down a little - the door really needs to be 'bent' back up again.

Is there a secret correct way to do this? A bit of 'gentle persuasion' might break something rather than fix it.

Check the rear door hinge hasn't pulled off the body work...common on a 460! There is adjustment on the door hinge also just slacken off the bolts and lift.

if it is the hinges that have droped adjusting the hinges will only lift the whole door, not just one side
to lift just one side, just like the front doors, there are dimpled metal packers that go between the hinge and the mounting piont and to adjust add or remove these form top or bottom to adjust.

If you take the door card off, you'll find 3 bolts for each hinge inside the door, if you slacken these, you'll get the adjustment you need

Have a look at the lower door hinge where it bolts to the body inside the back of the wheel arch (behind the rear lights). The mounting may have rusted away and will be moving about.

If so hopefully some can suggest a fix.

OK - removed the rear door panel and see the hinge mounting - 2 of the 3 bolts on each were loose. Was able to adjust both to their max and its just about OK - could do with 5mm more, but at least don't have to lift any more.
Thanks.

btw - there was a 6 inch flimsy 'spring' in the rear nearside quarter panel! Not connected to anything on the other end - just dangling there. I wonder what that is.

That spring should be connected to the plastic tube that houses all the wires entering the door, via a circlip, so as to pull the tube in when you close the door.
