Hi,

I want to build w460 for local off road trophy championship to enter in hard tourism competition and thinking about wheels, what better alloy or metal? Metal you can prepare if get damaged, alloys have lot of problems if you got it damaged... G is heavy and alloy wheels is place to reduce weight. Has anybody opinion is big difference in weight between alloy and metal disks?

Anybody saw those wheels in market. I like them very match... :)

you can find them on german ebay for more or less 600 if i remember well plus shipping.
I prefer all terain tyres with alloy wheels for off road and every day use and a set with metal rims with competition tyres for hard off roading!
If you get them post some pictures!

Your pockets are going to have to be VERY deep if you want "those wheels" and the weigh about 250kg each. They are Bomb proof though.

Use standard alloys, they are not far from bomb proof.

all depends wot type of offroading you want to do, if its winch challenge type stuff running big tyres to get the best from them you need beadlocks to run them at low pressures and stop pulling a tyre of the bead.
if this is the case steels your best bet for ease of welding.

if its just offroading on tracks on standard-ish size tyres the oe alloys will put up with an awful lot, more than most cheap "modular" type wheels.

I might give set of this type beadlocks a go, as it will hold the inner and outer bead. may find some with a bigger lathe than mine to take the outher lip off.

or theres the normal type that hold the other bead

It is orientation in wood and swamps, so yes, hard tourism is with winch challenges. Thinking about Bogger tires, they are the best for mud.
My not so far neighbor has beadlocks:

He just started this year in Latvian Trophy competition in TR2 class, whats is professional off road.
Next from tourism class TR1 has limits 820 mm hight at 2,0 atm tires max wide 320 mm. And no fixing with beadlocks or smth. :) So thinking to stick to it.
Found interesting page on wheels:

P.S. My G with geolanders, self made bumper. Picture of me in last weekend unofficial competition:

nice g's....
you will struggle to get boggers on any wheel thats availble for a g as they are buy there nature very wide tyres
ive 37'' boggers on one of mine, there great tyres but the beads are very loose, I can put one bead onto the rim by hand!!
with them running at low presures, and they need to, they will be a pain without beadlocks as they will pull of the beads very very easy!

as for wheels how about a set of these
http://www.rakeway.co.uk/crossbreeds.htm
and then just buy a set of 15x10 landrover fittment steels?
