Let's all roll our G's
You guest it, I rolled mine to! I wish I could say it was off roading, or speeding on the road, or even slipped on diesel, but I stood still.
I went hunting today in the worst possible places, mud, water, rocks, banks.... and the G never thought twice of getting through, but THEN on my way home with a very dirty G, I missed the turn-off for my local farm shop to stop to buy milk, pulled onto the shoulder of the road to make a U-turn, and it collapsed under me. We ended up on our side in the ditch, rifles and ammo all over the place and me hanging in my seat belt. You should have seen the policeman's face when he looked into the car before I could get out...
To make matters worst, I had to phone a friend with a 20 year old Landy to come and help me get out.
There you go, First Pok, now me, who's next?
Leeu
Sorry to hear about your mishap and pleased that you are alright.
Which G were you in? I am having a vision of my old 300gds and hope it wasn't!!!
All the best and hope it is repairable, any photos for us to see?
Regards
Murph
Hi...Wow....Hope you are alright? How did it happen?
Sorry to hear that but glad you're ok.
I think that makes four? Peter Perfect, Mortinson, Pok, Leeu.... am I missing anyone?
ive rolled one....but shh dont tell anyone!
Ooo!!! Poor you comrade!! I know exactly how you feel... :-( by the way... After some long dicussions with a number of experts, I have come to a conclusion that getting a G400 is not in my best interest, getting a 300TD instead!!
LEEU, I hope your insurance is more sensible than mine!!
sh*t happens christo. :(
i am really sorry to hear this mate. glad no one was hurt.
i was almost on the list too at stonehenge last year,
shauny and dawny were following behind ....when i went up on 2 wheels about 2-3 ft
best wishes hus55.
Good to hear you're well. Unclassified and B-roads are known as the most dangerous in the UK, they look lovely with their grass verges on a bright summer day..but they're treacherous if you step over the tarmac.
Bottom line is..you're better off in a G than almost any other passenger car (imho).
That's not a roll it's a gentle side lean, a roll is over 3 times like I did in my 280, leaving it's contents spread out 80 foot down a track, put the spare wheel on the front and drove off, no landrover in sight !
Thank you Ian
For your defination
You beat me to it
Dammn
I managed to do this:
It was easy, too easy.
Car is repaired and I'm re-building it to expedition spec, but definitely no cargo on the roof!
I'm in the market for second-hand winch bumper, winch and long range fuel tank.
Eddie.
Thanks guys, the car is ok, my one shoulder is bloody sore at the moment, but nothing broken.
The car is driving and I'm not even going to claim on the insurance. New mirror and a few plastic bits and the back panel to repair.
I am more concerned about the cv joint I need to change.
