So yeah i have a 300gd and it's awsome, but i started using it every day and it has bad milage and it's not very fast and as much as i don't want to, i'm thinking about changing the engine. So is it worth it? I heard that you can basicly put any engine in it. Is this true? What would you recommend?

Heh Simon,
i suppose a few more things need to be asked? what are you after, performance or economy?! if its economy, i dont know the cost of the project will provide more than any economy benefit over your 300 diesel! if its power, the simplest thing would be to put an m110 2.8L like from the factory...however, the other alternative for more power and thats a 5L m117 which im trying to do at the moment and many others on this site have done. fuel economy with the petrol alternative will obviously be more expensive than diesel!

Hmmm... I guess i wanna bit of both. Yea shure, 2.8l or even a 5l engine would be awsome but being petrol engines, but it would use even more fuel. I was thinking more like a newer TURBO diesel. Turbo diesels use less fuel and have more power and tourqe. Would this be possible?

heh where did you learn to greet in slovenian? :P

what year is your G Simon? it sounds like the early 460 in which case, i would think fitting a new diesel is not that easy as the mounts would be different and you would have to fit the electrics? others on the forum know much better than i! here in australia, fuel is still quite cheap so i will be going for the petrol engine.
