Good morning!

I suspect my ignitioncylinder might be worn out. The thing is, when i have activated the stearingwheel-lock by moving the s-wheel a couple of inches after I have removed the startingkey from the cylinder.
When I am trying to start the truck again i have a real problem of turning the startingkey. I have been hasling with it for oven 20 minutes before it finaly unlocked and started the engine. Resultet in late arrival to work... and yesterday i was stuck in the woods for a while before the lock finally released.

Is maybee the cylinder or the key worn out? (tried with speerkey with same result) or is it possible to somehow remove the s-wheellock?

Thanks!

/R

Have a look here

Get it fixed before it leaves you stranded, easy to fix while you can still turn the key, a real pain when completely goes though.

Hi try lubricating the mechanism with WD 40 then light oil... if you have any water leaks from the rubber windscreen surround or wiper spindles this could have caused your problem......

I have now replaced the lockingcylinder. Got a new one from Mercedes in germany. Its working a lot better now but sadly the i still cant trust it. Had a 20 minutes struggle with the key yesterday... so, like before i left the ignitionkey in the lockingcylinder to avoid problems
