I have just looked into insuring a G at a Belfast postcode and my heart sunk!

At home in Scotland it was going to cost me £250. Best I can find for Northern Ireland is £825.

I presumed it would be more but more than 3 times as much? never.

I think this is insane- i insured a group 20 elise for this not 3 years ago when i was 23!

Anybody got a suggestion for a good NI insurance company or am i going to have to bite the bullet?

Re: G insurance

Hi ian there are a number of Uk companies that insure G wagons in Northern Ireland as classic vehicles with useage/mileage limitations for as little as GBP 200...try Aon or Adrian Flux

Re: G insurance

foneman, sureterm did the job! not qiute as cheap as you but I have buisness use on mine and the max 9000 miles allowance for a classic car policy. It includes off road as well!!

Fixwin, Eon and adrian flux wouldnt even quote me...dont know why as adrianflux advertise as specialist but tried them twice before with other cars and both times unable to quote for high group cars.

Hopefully tomorrow, if it checks out ok, i will finally be a G owner!

Once i have a G i can become a fully paid member too! Been feeling bad about using an owners forum whilst being g-less!

Thanks for the advice guys! :D

Re: G insurance

Adrian Flux should quote you.... they're the recommended insurer for club members and will give a discount for such. I've got mine insured through them.

What sort of G are you trying to insure? That does seem high....

Re: G insurance

Maxwell,

300 GES. But non standard wheels, bullbars colour coding and interior trim means, according to adrian flux, modified. They dont insure modified cars in NI, G or not, aparently. Am happy with my price now though, its the business use that puts the price higher than normal. Adrian flux I have never found the most helpfull before either. Always full of promises about cheap insurance for specialist cars then excuses for being £500 more than norwich union!
