All,

when I hold the front wheel at 9 and 3 position and rock the wheel there is a little play whats' it likely to be? Wheel bearing?

Easy to adjust or new bearing required? What's the procedure to change/tighten?

ps nothing on other side.

cheers Andy

Re: Wheel bearing??

Hello w4hsa,

The proper way to check wheel bearing play is from a 12:00 o'clock and 6:00 o'clock position. Play eminating at this position will most likely to be w/brg. play, or king pin play.

Should you decide the w/brg has play; unless itis minor leave it alone.

Trying to adjust it tighter, the bearing is put under more stress, that in a short time it will collaspe. Naturally, if the play is excessive, the only course of action is to replace.

Your check from the 9 & 3 o'clock postion indicates posible play in one of the track rod ends or drag link.

Re: Wheel bearing??

took the wheel off to examine....it seems there is a little play wherever the disk is held.

Back to wheel bearing?
