Flying G-wagen seen on the LIzard!!!!
You saw it here!
A flying G-wagen was seen it the village of Ruan Minor at 0935 zulu on 21.04.09. Now that the prosecution is over here is the report.
The flight in question followed a collision with a Vauxhall Vectra which dashed out of a side turning without stopping and hit the G-wagen by way of the n/s rear passenger door. The G-wagen TOOK OFF rolling through 360* before coming to rest 12m. diagonally away from the point of impact, straddling a low hedge above me.
I was a witness to the collision - I was driving in the opposite direction and saw it at close quarters insomuch as that at one point the G-wagen flew over the front of the bonnet of my beloved 1984 280SE.
Both driver and passenger, who incidently was sitting on the seat above the point of impact, got out unscathed, under their own steam and although the G-wagen was dented at the point of impact, all glass remainded unbroken. More on this later.
wow..
would love to hear more details and see some pics
Rolling through 360, or spinning through 360??
Rolling would be pretty hairy. Sounds like a scene in an action movie with you looking through your windscreen at them as they barrel rolled over your bonnet, no doubt gripping the steering wheel as tight as possible!
I bet they drove the G away, but not the Vectra.
Further to my report of a flying G-wagen
To clarify, the G-wagen rolled 360*, not end for end. No, it did not drive away as the oil cooler pipe had sheared at the top union and it pumped most of it's oil out before being stopped. The driver and passenger got out unaided and apart from being shook up were uninjured. The same could be said for the prat who hit them, he escaped with a bruised knee, amazingly. Despite the fact that there was no Zafira in front of the windscreen the passenger cell retained its integrity, airbags deployed and the driver, sole occupant, walked away from it. I was the only witness to the incident and apart from sitting the parties involved and blocking the road to oncoming traffic had nothing else to do. Amazingly the driver of the Zafira neither then or at any time in the future made any enquiries as to the health of the other parties. unlike the driver of the G-wagen who was most concerned.
Police, FIre and Ambulance duly arrived so as soon as decent I departed
