locking problem

if anyone knows what is the problem...
its about 300TD W463, 1998
When I try to lock the car pins do not go down and red/green light does not blink in my rearview mirror .. i only hear the click sound somewhere under the dash
if the car is "locked" turn indicators blink at irregular intervals and if it is "unlocked" blink few times...so i have to press my key few times for my car to be "unlocked"

if i lock it with key in a lock they go down and lock....

anyone?

Hello boro,

Need to know if the red light behind your rear view mirror (rvm) illuminates. If not, the bulb needs replacing, the task requires de-soldering and soldering.

Do the lights on the remote illuminate? (Battery), but this should not affect the rvm. lights.

Need input.....

neither green or red light illuminate....only thing that happens is the clicking sound under the dash...somewhere around the steering wheel
battery in the key is new

could bulbs in rvm be the reason for not locking?
