Just had a massive MOT shock!

(1)“Axle Bushes (Nearside & Offside front) Bonded suspension unit. Bonding failed and part of unit is likely to become displaced”

(2)“Nearside Drag Link end ball joint excessive play”

(3)“Brake Load Sensing Valve…linkage seized.”

(4)“Nearside Rear (tank strap) Fuels system component insecure”

(5)”Nearside Front anti-roll-bar bracket/mounting corroded”

Is this terminal?

I am particularly concerned about the “bonded suspension unit”. Didn’t know it had a “bonded suspension unit” Is this a new sub-frame as the Mk 3 Mondeos were?
How costly should this be?
What options have I?

Many Thanks Guys

Re: MASSIVE MOT SHOCK!

I suspect it mean the radius arm bushes at the axle end.

Re: MASSIVE MOT SHOCK!

So is that a straightforward job Andy?

The garage seemed to think it would be uneconomic to repair the vehicle!

Re: MASSIVE MOT SHOCK!

Hi Item 1 these bushes around GBP 35 each Item 2 depending on which end has failed price could be GBP 27 or GBP 170 for parts. item 3 new linkeage arm GBP 21.50... Item 4 Buckalec this forum, has local fabricator at good price . Item 5 Bracket GBP 42 .....estimated labour content GBP 800 (if we had it here) all parts available from Mercedes Benz give then the Vin Number when ordering. hope you are feeling better now !!!! ** another option is to sell the vehicle as an MOT failure. BUT expect to get very little money in the present economic environment

Re: MASSIVE MOT SHOCK!

Good point. Not my usual place.
We've now taken it to a garage more known to us for an estimate.
