Rear Seats and CC Charge.

I've been thinking of fitting a set of rear seats for a while now. A lot of times we need to carry more than 5 people so 9 seats in the G would be ideal. From what I remember the rear seats new cost about £3k or more just for the parts. So im thinking 2nd hand.

Question is how much for a 2nd hand set set? A grand sound reasonable to too much?

Also does anyone have pictures of the rear safety belts in use? The double buckle seems a bit odd, and just wanted a look at a pic.

Finally does anybody know if this will make my vehicle exempt from CC charge? I've had a look at the CC website and it seems that as long as I get my Registration Document updated to show 9 seats I should be OK. Has anyone looked into this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear Seats and CC Charge.

The rear seat belts on mine are actually lap belts and will hold in place two kids on each side!

I made an exploratory enquiry when I got mine, as you have said the 9 seats will affect the CC, however when I spoke with them, its not as easy as first made out, you have to get (and keep updated) a particular licence (can't remember the number) and then there was the cost for this licence, was not that cheap.

If you call their hep line they can talk you through it, but in the end it was easier and cheaper to just pay the charge as I do not go into London that much.

Hope this helps

I have the CC exemption for my 9-seater. There was no charge when applying and annual renewal is free too - they even send a reminder.....
