Before any of you say it, yes I should have known better :( but on the other hand, the 300GD is still going strong (touch wood)

This does however leave me in a bit of a bad situation as all my spare fundage was tied into the Disco and I needed a good return to get a bodyshell repaired for my own personal use.

Question is, do I let the G go? It is super but I did buy it accidentally and I don't really need it and I'm very upset by the whole situation.

Ho hum.

Here are some pictures for your trouble and understanding.

I remember my dads first ever new car was a VX490, bright yellow, overdrive and rostyles wheels, L reg, that towed our bailey caravan all over europe. very lucky as a kid touring europe in that yellow Vauxhall VX490. The old man was still an arse hole though !

Left it idling for ten minutes, went to back it out of its parking space, clang clang clang smoke.. I'm not even going to bother looking at it, I never want to see it again. Just spent countless hours and several hundred pounds on replacing the turbo, head gasket and a few other bits, now it seems the bottom end has gone tits. Might be quite simple but it's going to have to be a job for someone else.

Thanks for the comment on the Victor :) it's my daily car.

Just to top off my current wonderful life, the G has just gone pop. I'll have a look in the morning as it's too dark now. Could be as simple as a coolant hose off, might be a radiator, could be anything. :(

Well, G needs a rad...... most of the middle has burst quite a lot. Ho hum, when the doorstop of a Land Rover goes and I have some meager fundage, I'll treat it to a re-core and perhaps even find a propshaft for the front as I'm still only RWD even when I want all 4 W's D'ing.

Could have been much worse.

Hi Phil G if you have been pushing muddy water through it and not flushing the residue out.. this tends to happen..the mud bakes hard in the fins a creates a "hot spot" ....recore over here GBP 140 I have one being done at the moment .....
